Get More of What You Want - Effective strategies for influencing others
If you think about it, we all spend a lot of time and energy trying to influence people over whom we have no formal authority so that:
- they accept our ideas or proposals
- they change their minds and opinions
- we get more of what we want
We do this every day. We influence spouses and friends at home, and of course colleagues, clients, stakeholders, etc. at work. Sometimes we are successful and sometimes we do not get what we want.
This session will examine a model for effective interpersonal influence to help us to understand better what makes us (un)successful at influencing others. We will also explore different strategies for influencing others so that we can become more flexible in our influencing styles and thereby increase our chances of success.
Participants will receive a free copy of the Linkage Influence Style Assessment questionnaire to uncover their natural and dominant influencing styles.
